March 2010 - visit the museum Malartre

A fine goal to ride in Lyon: Malartre the museum, museum of the cycle, motorcycle and automobile! A

Rochetaillé, about 20 km from Lyon, in a splendid castle, and some of the halls adjoining the museum is located, started by a collector (and former owner of a snack) at the beginning of last century. Many unique pieces punctuate this collection of vehicles, many of which are related to the history of Lyon. On this blog, this post will be dedicated to light vehicles and propulsion muscle or joint, but know that it is much more to see in this museum!

Alas, not yet recumbent presentation, but there are a few photos in the museum ... and during our visit, there was a Catrike tricycle parked in bike rack conveniently placed right at the entrance of the museum ... tricycle which has been quite successful:)

Here are some pictures of museum pieces:

The folding bicycle of Captain Gerard (1898), then a model for winter

a triplet and a tandem / Tricyle coast side, "said outgoing (2ch ancestor?)

No pedaling, but reciprocation, then a Pedersen original

An amazing tricycle English asymmetric, then a "kill stepmother" (passenger front)

The "SOUPLET" frame & wheels wood, late nineteenth century; tricycle type Salvo (1885), made up Jacobin!

A "Cycle Car", Vehicle lightweight (150 kg) to 2 seats in tandem, that have had success in the 20s, followed by a single-channel, 2-wheeled vehicle with retractable stabilizers

The amazing Stela ( Service Electric Traction Light with accumulators) 1941, Lyon electric car, produced by Forges et Ateliers de Lyon. 140 km of autonomy, 2 tons (1 ton of batteries, for 1 ton vehicle) into 96V.
